Onyx MM103

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2016

Onyx came to TMM as a stray to be Trap/Neutered/Released (TNR).  However, the people who trapped her decided that they were not willing to have her returned despite promising to do so.  She is a gorgeous "teacup panther" with a silky black coat and has become quite friendly despite her feral roots.  She prefers to be an only cat and would most likely prefer the company of adults or older children.

Butterscotch - MM49

Neutered Male - DSH - Born 2015

Butterscotch is a young adult, neutered male domestic shorthair.  He was live trapped as an injured feral in Suttons Bay in 2017.  In the years that he has been in foster care, we have watched him blossom from shy to a total love bug.  He LOVES his people and is learning to enjoy being a lap cat.  He does not enjoy sharing his people with other cats but would likely adjust to sharing with a calm dog.

Christian Grey - MM05

Neutered Male - DSH - Born 2014

“CG” was captured as part of a feral litter.  He has slowly learned to trust his caregivers but remains very shy.  He is playful, especially with wand toys.  He enjoys being petted and brushed when his person sits on the floor with him.  CG would do best in a quiet, patient, adult home. He would do best with his brother, Ash MM02 as a housemate.

Howard - MM46

Neutered Male - Exotic Shorthair - Born 2008

Howard was saved from euthanasia thanks to a collective rescue effort with the help of Northwoods Animal Coalition.  His owner was evicted and he was dumped onto a relative with 4 other senior cats.  The relative could not keep them and planned to dump them on a two track in the woods.  Fortunately we were able to step in and take him and his housemates, Arthur and Ginny.  Howard is our shy guy.  He loves affection but it does take him a little while to adjust to new situations.  We have discovered that he really enjoys gentle children.  He purrs a lot and enjoys head rubs and having his face washed.  Ideally Howard would enjoy a quiet, older adult home where children come to visit him.

Shadow - MM55

Neutered Male - DSH - Born 2005

Shadow came to The Munchkins’ Mission when his owners decided that they had to euthanize him for urinating in the house.  The Munchkins’ Mission decided to do some further diagnostic testing to look into his issue and discovered that Shadow has hyperthyroidism.  The combination of this disease and stress may have been the reasons for his urinary indiscretion.  Shadow will have to be on medication for this disease but is taking it well.  He would do best as an only cat in a patient and quiet household.  Shadow is also front paw declawed.

Nibbles - MM07

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2014

Nibbles was captured as part of a feral litter.  Nibbles is the shyest of the Shades of Grey litter.  She tends to avoid contact and will hiss when approached at times.  Occasionally she will allow gentle ear rubbing.  She could live in a home with no expectations except as a beautiful roommate or she could be allowed to be a pampered barn kitty.  We suggest that she go to a home without children.

Reeses - MM07 ADOPTED 2017

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2005

Reeses came to The Munchkins’ Mission with her littermate, Shadow MM 55 when her owners decided that they had to euthanize them both for urinating in the house.  The Munchkins’ Mission decided to do some further diagnostic testing to look into their issues.  Reeses’ testing came back perfectly normal and it was decided that she was not the cat who was urinating in inappropriate places.  Reeses is not only drop dead gorgeous but a total sweetheart!  She is a tad shy at first but loves affection once settled in. She would do best in a quiet and patient household and would most likely tolerate another kitty companion.  She is also front paw declawed.

Smokey - MM35 ADOPTED 2018

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2016

Smokey was brought to us with her two siblings (Sebastian and Bandit).  Smokey is a lap cat who loves to snuggle and purr.  Although she is shy at first, she warms up with a little time and patience.  She adores play time with anything she can find and tends to entice her sister, Bandit to play all the time.  She also LOVES food and treats; this means her diet and weight will need to be monitored closely.  She would do best in a home with older children and would prefer to be adopted with her sister, Bandit MM34.

Ginny - MM44 REST IN PEACE

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2002

Ginny was saved from euthanasia thanks to a collective rescue effort with the help of Northwoods Animal Coalition.  Her owner was evicted and she was dumped onto a relative with 4 other senior cats.  The relative could not keep them and planned to dump them on a two track in the woods.  Fortunately we were able to step in and take her and her housemates, Arthur and Howard.  Ginny is our most senior kitty with so much left to give.  She is incredibly affectionate and has a loud, demanding ‘meow’ when she wants something.  Overall she is still very healthy, although she has cataracts and several missing teeth.  She really just needs a warm bed, a lap, and canned food to live out the rest of her days.  A quieter, older adult home would be ideal for this sweet granny of a cat.

Unfortunately, Ginny succumbed to renal disease and was humanely euthanized.  She will forever be in our hearts.

Bandit - MM34 ADOPTED 2018

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2016

Bandit was brought to us with her two siblings (Smokey and Sebastian).  Bandit is a pistol!  She is very playful and busy (usually climbing a cat tree).  She also has a high pitched demanding ‘meow’ when it is time for her meals.  She is very sleek and svelte and although a little shy at first she comes around quickly with treats and play.  She loves her sister, Smokey MM35 and would do best adopted along with her.  A home with older children would be best suited for Bandit.

Kohl - MM06

Neutered Male - DLH - Born 2014

Kohl was captured as part of a feral litter.   Kohl is shy at first but enjoys being brushed and petted once he is comfortable.  His purr is very loud and his gorgeous coat is soft and plush.  He will need a quiet, adult home.  He would do best to be adopted with his sister, Sable MM01.

Steele - MM03 - ADOPTED 2018

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2013

Steele was captured as a feral mother of a litter.   Steele is the regal matriarch of the Shades of Grey kitties.  She doesn’t play much and prefers to spend her time on the arm of a couch surveying her kingdom.  She is also a bit of a lap cat and loves to be petted and have her ears rubbed.  Steele and her daughter Sienna MM04 are very bonded and should be adopted together.

Wednesday

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2015

Wednesday was captured as a stray living near Chili’s Restaurant in Traverse City in October 2016.  She was terrified and found to be heavily pregnant.  Within a few days of her capture she gave birth to 5 kittens.  Sadly, due to stress, Wednesday did not take the best care of her babies and they all soon passed away.  We promised her she would never have to face that heartbreak again.  Originally, she was to be released as a feral, but due to the dangerous conditions she was living in, we decided to seek an alternative for her.  As it turns out, Wednesday loves people!  She went from ‘feral’ to friendly in a matter of weeks.  She will need some patience as she adjusts to new situations and is not yet comfortable with being held.  She loves toys and belly rubs!

Sienna - MM04 - ADOPTED 2017

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2014

Sienna was captured as part of a feral litter.  “Cee Cee” is a silly cat.  She loves to play and goof around.  She is very chatty and loves affection.  Eventually she settles down and will sit on laps, she does not enjoy being picked up however.  Sienna is very bonded with her mother, Steele MM03 and they should be adopted together.

Ash - MM02

Neutered Male - DLH - Born 2014

Ash was captured as part of a feral litter.   Ash is shy and timid.  Eventually, his trust is earned and he will rub against the legs of his caregiver.  He does not enjoy being held or picked up but with time and patience he will become a quiet companion.  He will need a quiet, patient, and calm adult home.  He would do best to be adopted with his brother, Christian Grey MM05.

Sable - MM01

Spayed Female - DSH - Born 2014

Sable was captured as part of a feral litter.  Sable is a total love bug.  Although she prefers not to be held, she loves to be petted and have her belly rubbed.  She enjoys sitting next to her person and tends to be chatty with her extensive vocabulary of chirps and purrs.  She loves to show off her toy mouse hunting skills and chase wand toys.  Sable would do best in a quieter adult home with another cat. Kohl MM06 would be a great buddy for her.
